We were selected by the UPA (Quebec Farmer’s Union) and MAPAQ (Ministry of Agriculture) to be part of the province-wide ‘open day’ – a great opportunity to meet new people and show them a bit of the rural life! Also, some of our friends in Bristol are members of the Pembroke Antique Car Club. The Club put on a bit of a show the following weekend at the Hall. Here are some photos from both weekends – enjoy, and thank you to everyone who came out, and participated!

Some time ago, we were sent some photographs by a member of the MacDougall family, who once owned Coronation Hall. We thought we’d share those photos here.

Coronation Hall was once the place to be for dancing. The poster comes from the opening dance for the 1950 season. The photo is from roughly the same era. Note the lack of trees – today, dense bush surrounds the hall! Also, the front porch was later incorporated into the building when it was extended to the south. Recently, we’ve added an open verandah to the front of the hall to reflect that original porch. Note the Coca-Cola sign on the front; that sign was later used to patch a hole in the roof and was there as recently as ten years ago, before we purchased the property (but has since gone missing).
