Easter Egg Hunt

Easter is coming, and as always, children (and children-at-heart) are welcome to come hunt for goodies across our lawns this Saturday, April 23rd, from 10am till 4pm. Come check out our newly-renovated tearoom, check out the cider mill, and get a fresh apple pie and a bottle of our famous ‘Bristol’ cider to grace your Easter table. We will be closed the following Sunday (April 24th) and Easter Monday (April 25th).

New Season at Coronation Hall

April is rolling around again and we’re ready for another exciting season here at Coronation Hall. Art Shows, Quilt Shows, Lobster Supper, Murder Mystery, Theatre, dances and even a Royal Wedding all await us this year. In the tea room, we’ve started renovations to make it even nicer, and offer more drinks, desserts and treats than ever before. Tours of our production room are available, and you can enjoy our popular ‘Bristol’ light cider in our new tasting room. Coming later this summer we will be unveiling a second flavour of the Pontiac’s favorite local alcohol. Be sure to check the website regularly for details (as they become available).

Starting April 2nd, we will be open 6 days a week, Tuesday – Thursday from 10am – 4pm, and Sundays from 1pm – 4pm.

Haunted Hall

A great way to start off your evening of trick-or-treating or a great place to finish. Games, treats, scary candied apples, and you could even learn of the legend of the Coronation Witch! Halloween evening (Oct. 31st), 4pm – 8pm. everybody welcome, young and the young-at-heart!

UPA Open Day, & Pembroke Antique Car Club

It’s been a busy September at the Hall. We were selected by the UPA (Quebec Farmer’s Union) and MAPAQ (Ministry of Agriculture) to be part of the province-wide ‘open day’ – a great opportunity to meet new people and show them a bit of the rural life! Also, some of our friends in Bristol are members of the Pembroke Antique Car Club. The Club put on a bit of a show the following weekend at the Hall. Here are some photos from both weekends – enjoy, and thank you to everyone who came out, and participated!

Portes ouvertes sur les fermes du quebec

This past Sunday (Sept. 13th), Coronation Hall Cider Mills, along with its brother enterprise, Third Line Orchards, participated in the ‘Portes ouvertes sur les fermes du quebec’ (Quebec Farms open house). Over three-hundred visitors came, with a large number of new visitors from the towns of Aylmer, Hull, and Gatineau, as well as across the river in Arnprior and even Petawawa! Kids pressed and drank their own cider, coloured coloring sheets, and participated in apple-variety guessing games, while adults took part in a presentation on apple cultivation and basic pruning techniques. The mill was running all day, with visitors able to see our production in progress, as well as the tea room, where many took advantage of our excellent baked treats and ‘fresh-off-the-press’ cider. The local branch of MAPAQ (Ministre d’Agriculture et Pecheries au Quebec) also participated, and their booth and presentations were greatly appreciated by all. A special thank you goes out to the local and regional members of the UPA (l’Union des producteurs agricole) which sponsored the day, providing us with volunteers, t-shirts, hats, and a draw for two gift baskets (of our products) worth $150 each. The winners were Mdm. Lanouette of Aylmer, Quebec, and Ms. Ann Hodgins of Shawville, Quebec – congratulations!

Shawville Fair a great success!

The 153rd Shawville Fair has come and gone, and Coronation Hall Cider Mills was proud to be a part of it. Not only did we sponsor the apple pie contest (seeing as how one of our bakers one the Ottawa Super-Ex’s), we also sponsored the award for the most points in the baking division. Congratulations to everyone who participated. We also had a booth in the ‘buy local’ section (the arena lobby). All of our cider supplies quickly went, and a surprising number of baked goods. Thank you to the CLD Pontiac for sponsoring the booth, and to the Pontiac Agriculture Society for their hard work.

Movie Night in Bristol!

The Pontiac CLD (Centre local de development), along with Table Jeunesse Pontiac is sponsoring a series of films this summer to be shown in different locations around the Pontiac. The first showing will be right here at Coronation Hall this Friday (July 10th) at 9:00 p.m. for Bedtime Stories featuring Adam Sandler. The film is completely free, just bring a lawnchair!
